Yesterdays Starry Night

Yesterday I was looking for northern lights as told in last post, I didnt see much hints of it except on camera. I have some images I want to share from yesterday night. Yesterday it was a beautiful starry night, and luckily there was a slight breeze so the mosquitos could not hang onto my skin(those bloodsuckers).  I managed to secure a lot of pictures of the sundown and I could catch some of the northern light. I actually went out in two batches and recharged the batteries of the camera during a short break.

It was really nice to get lost in the evening darkness, and only worry about if the northern lights would appear or not. Sadly I gave in at around midnight, and realised maybe it would not show it´s colours to the human eye this night. Anyways I got some nice pictures, so not to worrry.

    1. 17mm f/7,1 ISO 2000 & 30second exposure w/ a 17-40 lens and i increased exposure w/ about 1 stop in post processing, and i used auto white balance from camera, but normally i keep it on cloudy. The raw image had the sky as purple and the northern light more muddy so made it more blue and clear green in lightroom/photoshop. Ah yes! and thank you 🙂

  6. I love your photography. Curious what settings you’re using to get these shots. We do get the Northern Lights every once in a while here in Vancouver, BC Canada, however, it would be nice to just drive out of the city and try my hand at some starry night shots. Keep posting these fabulous photos!
